How The Ask Andy Website Got Started
As Andy met increasingly more of the individuals from the Ask Andy Community and those of you sufficiently kind to possess my book there is by all accounts a typical inquiry.
How could you at any point begin the site? Here is the response!
Andy was associated with modernman.com as their men’s style discussion screen. Andy attempted to get the proprietor to post a greater amount of my articles, and add some promoting so that perhaps I could get compensated something! Those solicitations were not followed upon.
Andy thought perhaps he can do this without anyone’s help the manner in which he might want to make it happen.
Andy additionally had started composing my book, The Encyclopedia of Men’s Clothes.
The following not many weeks were a genuine growth opportunity for a non-tech individual (me!). Be that as it may, Bob worked with Andy and helped him through setting up certain pages.
On either August 22, 2001, or November 2, 2001 (can’t exactly nail it down!!) we were “broadcasting live” and it looked extraordinary.
Andy continued to add to the site, and after seven days Andy had gotten a sum of 14 hits! The vast majority of those were me checking out the site.
For reasons unknown (perhaps a genuine requirement for this sort of data) in half a month, we began getting taken note. In two or three months Google had tracked down us.
Andy finished The Encyclopedia of Men’s Clothes, had it repeated on a CD-Rom and sold the first on March 27, 2002.
Then, at that point, Andy convinced Bob to set up and share a web-based local area (a discussion). He was somewhat reluctant. Andy didn’t know he was excessively enthused, and it was a ton of specialized work. Additionally, Andy doesn’t feel that he saw any worth in a site on men’s designs.
The Forum went up at the very latest August 24th, 2002, and the traffic began expanding.
